ingredients

i found lots of interesting food and yeah most of them are mouth-watering but then the problem is the ingredients used is not suitable for me. it wouldnt be a problem if the ingredient is pork as i can just change it to another halal meat (though most of the outside food are inedible because they have non-halal meat) but wine is a bit different. wine is used in a lot of cooking especially in scandinavian countries. whats so special about wine that makes the food delicious? hmmm i wonder if i can substitute wine with something else? something that doesnt have alcohol. perhaps non-alcoholic beer? lol

  1. Personally, I don't have any problems eating food that is cooked with wine... Most of the ethanol will get evaporated under high heat anyway. Besides, it's just like eating tapai... Also got ethanol, yet the food does not (and is not meant to) cause drunkenness.

But if you insist, you can always buy dealcoholized wine (they still got trace amounts of ethanol though)! Sweet grape juice is NOT a substitute for red wine...

    1. im well aware that the alcohol evaporates during the cooking process but then you know, just to be on the safe side. ^^

anyway sweet grape juice is totally different from wine. that is more like water and sugar haha. i've never heard of dealcoholized wine though...

  3. Alcohol doesn't evaporate 100% when cooked, keep that in mind.
